Privacy Policy

How FORGETECH handles and protects information across its websites, products and services.

Last updated: September 26, 2026

1. Introduction

FORGETECH Company Limited respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal data responsibly.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect and disclose information when you use our websites, applications, products, services or support channels.

It supports our obligations under applicable Ghanaian law, including the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), but publishing it does not by itself claim regulatory registration or certification.

2. Who we are and our roles

FORGETECH is a Ghana-based technology company developing software, digital platforms, IoT systems and connected hardware.

Depending on the service, we may determine processing purposes as a controller or process data for a client that remains the controller. Product notices and contracts clarify the role where necessary.

3. Information we may collect

We may collect contact details, account information, preferences, service requests, transactions, communications, uploaded files and technical information such as IP address, device, browser and security logs.

The information collected depends on the product and should remain relevant and reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.

4. Docta, UniGuide and sensitive information

Docta may process information voluntarily shared about wellbeing, personal circumstances and interactions with professionals. Some of this may be sensitive and requires stronger safeguards.

UniGuide may process contact details, WASSCE results, programme preferences, orders and admissions-related documents.

Docta is not a substitute for emergency services, medical diagnosis or clinical care, and UniGuide cannot guarantee admission or an institution’s decision.

5. IoT and connected technologies

IoT solutions may process device identifiers, sensor readings, telemetry, events and network information. Product-specific notices may accompany each device.

6. Why we use information

We process information to provide and secure services, manage accounts and payments, respond to requests, prevent fraud, resolve incidents, improve products, comply with obligations and protect legal rights.

Depending on context, processing may rely on consent, a contract, legal obligation, an appropriate legitimate interest or another ground recognised by law.

7. Cookies and technical information

Our sites and applications may use cookies, local storage and logs for authentication, preferences, security, troubleshooting and performance analysis.

Non-essential technologies will be managed according to available choices and applicable requirements.

8. Sharing and service providers

We may share necessary information with hosting, payment, communication, analytics, support and security providers subject to appropriate obligations.

We may also disclose information where valid law, a lawful order, fraud prevention or protection of people and systems requires it. We do not sell personal data.

9. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside Ghana. Where this occurs, we seek appropriate contractual, technical and organisational safeguards and compliance with applicable transfer requirements.

10. Security

We apply safeguards proportionate to risk, including access controls, password hashing, encryption where appropriate, backups, logging, updates, environment separation and monitoring.

No system can promise zero risk. Users must protect credentials and report suspicious activity promptly.

11. Retention and deletion

We retain data only as reasonably necessary for services, legal obligations, security, disputes and controlled backups.

Periods vary by product. When they expire, information is deleted, anonymised or securely archived where law permits.

12. Your rights and preferences

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent.

We may verify identity before responding. Some information may be retained where a legal obligation or legitimate ground requires it.

13. Children and authorised users

Our services are not intended to knowingly collect children’s data without an appropriate legal basis, authorisation and safeguards.

Parents, guardians, schools and institutions must ensure they have authority before providing a minor’s information.

14. Incidents, changes and contact

We investigate security incidents and provide legally required notifications where applicable.

We may update this policy, and the displayed date identifies the latest revision.
